We’re proud to announce that Avedomum is an official sponsor of the 7th IFK Karate World Championship, taking place on May 10, 2025, at the Quarterback Immobilien Arena in Leipzig. Organized by IFK Germany and the dojo AktivSport SAXONIA, this world-class event is set to become a true highlight in the global karate community.
More Than Sponsorship – A Personal Commitment
For us at Avedomum, this isn’t just about sponsoring a major sporting event – it’s personal. Our CEO, Xenia Bauer-Stelzel, and team member Hannah Schaefer both come from athletic backgrounds and know firsthand the lifelong impact sport can have. Discipline, teamwork, and perseverance are not only taught on the mat – they become fundamental values that shape personal growth and professional success.
In fact, we see it every day: those who were challenged through sports early in life often grow into more resilient, focused, and determined individuals – qualities that serve them well beyond the gym or dojo.
“Where Champions Grow Like Mushrooms”
At the heart of AktivSport Saxonia is Michael Schramm – club president, coach, and the driving force behind the event. He oversees operations, manages training groups, liaises with local authorities, and still teaches Kyokushin karate himself. What’s more impressive: his club hails from the small town of Naunhof, with fewer than 10,000 residents, and yet they’ve managed to bring a global event to Leipzig. Locals jokingly say, “At Michael Schramm’s dojo, world champions grow like mushrooms” – and honestly, it’s not far from the truth.
We were lucky enough to experience a training session ourselves – alongside former world champion Ulrike Winkler (4th Dan, sports therapist, multiple-time world and vice world champion). Both she and Michael don’t just teach technique – they pass on calmness, presence, and clarity. It’s that mindset that elevates karate from sport to a way of life.
What karate teaches – breathing, posture, mental control – proves useful far beyond the mat. In fact, it’s exactly the kind of focus and discipline that benefits people in high-stress situations, negotiations, and daily work. Karate builds character – and that’s something we deeply relate to at Avedomum.
Inspiring the Next Generation
In a time where movement and sports are losing relevance in the lives of many children and teens, we want to set an example. Team sports don’t just keep us healthy – they teach social connection, communication, and belonging.
Through our support of the Karate World Championship, we want to help open doors for young people and give them access to role models who inspire courage, dedication, and growth.
When Architecture Meets Culture
Karate isn’t just a sport – it’s also culture. The Japanese terminology, the philosophy behind every technique, the breathing rituals – it’s a deeply rooted art form. As project developers, we’re inspired by that unity of body, mind, and space. That’s why we’re especially excited to be involved as partners in the planned temple-inspired building in Taucha – a project where we aim to bring the same clarity and discipline from the dojo into architecture.
We’re honored to support this incredible event and can’t wait to celebrate the world of karate with athletes, coaches, and fans from around the globe.
