Ideas have a unique kind of magic. They often begin quietly—through conversations, sketches, and the courage to rethink what already exists. Long before the first shovel breaks ground or the first stone is laid, they exist only in the minds of the people who believe in them.
That is how the story of Avécole began.
Not as a construction project, but as the vision of a school designed to meet the challenges of tomorrow – flexible, sustainable, and built around the needs of people.
The Origin of an Idea
At Avedomum, the concept for a modular school system was born, built around an innovative ModuleCube grid structure. The goal was to create an educational environment that isn’t constrained by rigid floor plans but shaped by the needs of its users.
Open learning landscapes, adaptable spatial concepts, and modular building elements create environments that can evolve alongside modern educational approaches. Sustainability, in this context, means more than resource-efficient construction—it means longevity, flexibility, and the ability to serve future generations.
Because great architecture doesn’t just answer today’s questions – it is ready for tomorrow’s.
Why Avécole?
The name Avécole tells the story behind the vision.
It combines the Latin word Ave with the French word école, meaning “school.” At the same time, it deliberately references the name Avedomum, highlighting the roots of the concept.
To us, Avécole represents the idea of a blessed school.
Not in a religious sense, but as a place where people can learn, grow, and shape their future with confidence. A place that provides security, encourages innovation, and creates a meaningful connection between people, architecture, and nature.
From Vision to Reality
Ideas reach their full potential when people develop them together.
With architect Marco Stelzel, the original vision found its architectural expression. Building on the initial concept, he transformed it into a compelling overall design and brought it to life through his own distinctive architectural language.
For Avedomum, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Da Vinci Community School in Großpösna on May 20 marked a truly special milestone.
Not simply because construction of an extraordinary school had begun.
But because it was the moment when an idea became reality.
Right at the Heart of It
Avedomum had the privilege not only of witnessing this remarkable day, but also of documenting it.
Through Avedomum Photography, we captured the groundbreaking ceremony, preserving the many small moments that made the occasion so memorable—the encounters, the emotions, and the pride shared by everyone involved.
Amid the guests, the speeches, and the ceremonial proceedings, one thing became abundantly clear: This project is far more than a new school building. It is the result of a shared conviction that educational spaces must be reimagined.
The Journey Continues
For us, Avécole is not a finished concept.
It is a mindset.
An invitation to rethink architecture—sustainable, modular, open to change, while grounded in stability and security.
The groundbreaking ceremony in Großpösna demonstrated that every great vision begins with a single idea.
And that this idea can grow into a place where generations of children and young people will learn, explore, and shape their future.
That is what Avécole stands for.
Schools that are not simply constructed.
But created for people.
Our Vision Doesn’t End in Großpösna
The Da Vinci Community School is not the destination.
It is the beginning.
Avécole is designed as a scalable system for municipalities, investors, and educational providers who want to do more than build schools—they want to rethink them from the ground up.
Because we believe the school of the future will not emerge from one-off projects.
It will emerge from a system that brings together economic efficiency, sustainability, innovation, and contemporary educational principles.
Avécole is more than a building.
It is a promise to the next generation.
